As carriers of the prophetic legacy, the Rightly-guided caliphs were the most extraordinary embodiment of the principle of progress.
May God’s infinite peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his folk and Companions.
Our Master Abu Bakr did the unprecedented when he single-handedly gripped the grieving Muslim community upon the death of the Messenger of God ﷺ,
when he founded the first public treasury,
when he defended the sanctity of Zakah as a pillar of Islam and fought those seeking to fragment the Religion,
when he undertook the preservation of the Quran and initiated its first compilation,
and when he named his successor to the caliphate.
May Allah be well pleased with him.
Our Master Umar did the unprecedented when he commenced the Hijri calendar,
when he built the first food storehouse,
when he formed the first network of Muslim judges,
and when he initiated the first council to choose the caliph-elect.
May Allah be well pleased with him.
Our Master ‘Uthman did the unprecedented when he introduced the additional first adhān before Jumu’a prayers,
when he delegated the responsibility of monetary Zakah to the citizen,
and when he standardized the Quranic text and script, sending master copies to each of the learning capitals of the Muslim world.
May Allah be well pleased with him.
May Allah ennoble his face.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “I am the City of Knowledge and Ali is it’s door. So, whoever seeks knowledge, let him seek the door.”
